C2C is proud to present the Country Music Association (CMA) Songwriters Series, in London on Friday 14th March at the IndigO2 featuring Martina McBride, Brett James, Striking Matches and series host Bob DiPiero.

The CMA Songwriters Series showcases the best of Country Music’s hit songwriters. The two-hour show presents the songwriters and artists together on stage, taking turns telling the stories behind their hit songs and performing them acoustically as originally written. With entertaining anecdotes and powerful performances, music fans have the opportunity to hear the stories, challenges, personalities and processes involved with writing songs that have become huge hits. This year, the CMA Songwriters Series takes place on the evening before C2C, a huge two-day music festival extravaganza at The O2 featuring an outstanding line up of music stars from across the Atlantic.

Host of the CMA Songwriters Series, Bob DiPiero will be performing alongside country music recording artist Martina McBride. With a 20-year career that’s already taken her to breathtaking heights, McBride has four CMA Female Vocalist of the Year trophies, a Grammy, numerous magazine covers and features, and has appeared on such shows as “Divas,” “American Idol” and “Dancing with the Stars.” Following The CMA Songwriters Series, McBride performs as part of the Saturday line up of C2C.

Joining McBride is Grammy Award-winner Brett James who is one of Nashville’s most successful and versatile songwriters. His songwriting credits include the No. 1 Country hits “Blessed” by Martina McBride, “Who I Am” by Jessica Andrews, “When the Sun Goes Down” and “Out Last Night” by Kenny Chesney, “Jesus, Take the Wheel” by Carrie Underwood, “It’s America” for Rodney Atkins and “The Truth” for Jason Aldean.

Appearing in London for the first time are, Striking Matches, made up of Sarah Zimmermann and Justin Davis. Their influences range from Jerry Reed to the Beatles, John Mayer to Patsy Cline. In 2012, Striking Matches made their debut on the Grand Ole Opry, where they have subsequently played more than 15 times. The duo has had five songs featured on ABC’s hit television show “Nashville.” They were named a CMT Listen Up artist in September 2013 and became the first artist signed to the newly launched I.R.S. Records Nashville, with their debut full length effort to be released in 2014.

CMA Songwriters Series host and a member of the prestigious Songwriters Hall of Fame, Bob DiPiero has had more than 1,200 songs recorded by other artists, countless hit singles, and an astounding 15 No. 1 hits. Some of his hits include “Southern Voice” recorded by Tim McGraw, “Blue Clear Sky” recorded by George Strait, and “Lovin’ You Is Fun” recorded by Easton Corbin. DiPiero was a key player in the creation and launch of the series and its first shows in New York 10 years ago as a way to spotlight and champion songwriters.
